If you run a business that is dog friendly, are you staff Dog Aware?
Allowing or encouraging customers to bring their dogs to your business, is a good way to maximise profits.

Observing staff in various business, who were obviously very fond of dogs, interacting with customers and their dogs, illustrated how badly we humans interact and communicate with dogs and how little we understand of what dogs are trying to tell us.

Most dogs are remarkable tolerant of human rudeness and ignorance, but there are all too many horror stories of dogs reacting in a frightening manner, barking growling and lunging, even biting with apparently no warning – when the signals the dog is uncomfortable are plain to see if you know what to look for!
D4dog Awareness course is a short course (60-90 minutes) designed for staff working in business that require interaction with customers (and their dogs.) It is full of practical information and advice of how to interact safely and appropriately with dogs in the workplace.
Guidance on how dogs communicate their feelings – be that relaxed and comfortable, uncertain or wary, even scared! Looking at how to interpret body language, actions such as lip licking or wagging tail – its not always what you might think!
We also coach staff how to be aware of their body language and how a dog might respond, how to speak to a dog and the do’s and don’t’s of interacting with an unfamiliar dog.
The course is customised to meed the specific needs of the business and its staff. We have supported Education Settings, Hospitality and Retail Businesses.
The D4dog Awareness course starts from £60 for a short course for up to 5 staff.
If you have specific needs please contact us to discuss these and book your Dog Awareness course today.
